Aug. 4-8 |
Vacation Bible School
Come join us for Vacation Bible School from Monday,
August 4, through Friday, August 8, from 9:30am-12noon.
Children ages 4 (by June 1) through 4th grade are invited to join us
for this fun week. Registrations are now being accepted. Cost for this fun-filled program is $30 for one student, $40 for two students, and $75 for
three students. Register early to ensure a place for your child.
Many opportunities are available for volunteers-youth from 5th
grade to adults. It takes about 50 volunteers each day to make VBS run smoothly.
Information about this program may be picked
up outside St. Richard's Faith Formation office or at the St. Peter parish office or call Jan at 612-869-2426, ext 119.
Work
sessions for Vacation Bible School will begin on Wednesday, June 25, and continue through July. We will be working each week on Wednesday morning
from 9-11am. We hope you can join us. There is lots to do to get ready for VBS and we need lots of willing hands.
Youth through
adults are welcome to join us and we look forward to working with all of you. |

Habitat for Humanity Build Week
Our five day work week is August 18-22
from 8am-4:30pm. The work site is at the intersection of Como and 13th Ave S.
Volunteer sign-ups will take place in the
narthex after Masses each weekend from July 5-6 through August 2-3.
This year we need 15-18 workers each day including: 1 Site
Coordinator who works with the Twin Cities Habitat Coordinator; 1 Site Host who greets volunteers, handles sign-in, and coordinates lunches from
8am-2pm; 3-4 Crew Leaders who will work with teams of 3-4 unskilled volunteers; and Food Donations volunteers who will manage donuts for morning
coffee, treats, and lunches.
Volunteer schedules will be ready by mid-August.

Saturday,
Sept. 13 |
Funfest
• Crafters/vendors will be here from 9am to 4:30pm. We still have spaces
available for crafters.
• The Silent Auction and other parish booths will be open 9am to 7pm.
• Donations are needed for
the Silent Auction and craft booth. Do you have gently used or unused jewelry, books, tapes, toys, games? We have a booth for them.
•
The Kiddie Carnival will be held from 10am to 4:30pm. 2 liter bottles of soda for a game are needed.
• Some outdoor activities include
bingo, outdoor grilling, and a beer tent. These activities will run from 3-7pm.

Children's Liturgy of the Word - Sundays
At the 11:00 a.m. Mass, children are invited to come forward in the Sunday assembly after the Opening Prayer to go forth with prayer leaders to hear
the stories of our faith at a level written for children. They also talk about and reflect upon what they hear Jesus saying to them in the Word, and
how then to relate that to their daily life. Children return to the assembly for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Church Cleaning Help Needed - Mondays
Men and women are needed to help clean the church on Monday mornings for 45 minutes. You can work one, two, three or four Mondays a month. It's OK
if you're away in the winter (or summer)! The more people who come to help, the easier it is for everyone. If interested, please call the parish
office, 612-869-2426, and leave your name and phone number.
Exposition/Adoration -
Adoration and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place at 8:30 am and continue throughout the day. If you have not yet experienced this
time of silent prayer before the Lord, you are invited to stop in anytime during the day for as long as you like. If you are unable to come but have
special intentions, write them in the petition book in the chapel. We will pray for your needs. Adoration ends with evening prayer.
Ensemble -
The Ensemble of St. Richard's is an "inter-generational" group of youth, young adult and (older) adult members. The group serves as music ministers
at the 5 pm and 11 am Sunday liturgies. For more information contact Wayne at the parish office at (612) 869-2426.
