Parish
♦  Prayer Shawl Ministry
Would you like to make a prayer shawl for a parishioner in need of extra comfort and care? Or donate yarn for one? Those who make Prayer Shawls pray throughout the creation of the shawl and some recipients continue the kindness by making a shawl and giving it to someone in need, thus continuing the feeling of the unconditional embrace of a sheltering, mothering God. Call Kathleen in the parish office (612-869-2426).
♦  VEAP Needs
baby wipes   diapers   facial tissue   laundry soap
paper towels   shampoo   toilet paper   toothpaste
♦  Greeters for 9am Mass
Call Dorothy at 952-881-3516.
♦  Faith Formation Catechists and Prayer Leaders
1) Share your faith through word and action with young children and youth in the Faith Formation program.
2) Catechists for Sunday preschool during 11am Mass and for a six week commitment to grades 6-8 on Wednesday evenings.
3) Prayer leaders for Children's Liturgy of the Word on a rotating schedule of Sunday mornings. Call Jan at 612-869-2426 if you're interested in either opportunity above.
♦  Church Cleaners
We need help cleaning the church on Monday mornings at 8:30am. You could also clean after 11am Mass (pick-up and straighten up). No vacuuming would be done then. This would be a great family service or something for teens who need service hours. Call the office (612-869-2426).
♦  Helping Hand Fund
We have had a "Helping Hand" account at St. Richard for many years. This account is funded by parishioners for parishioners. It enables us to assist parishioners (on a one-time-only basis) who find themselves in a particularly difficult financial situation. We invite you to contribute to this fund at any time. And if you find yourself in dire need, and would like to discuss the possibility of receiving financial assistance, please contact either Fr. Tom or Kathleen in the parish office.

Community Programs
♦  VEAP (our local community food shelf)
Besides contributing food and money at our church, VEAP has an ongoing need for volunteers at their Bloomington site including special seasonal programs. Call 952-888-9616 more information.
♦  Meals on Wheels, Loaves and Fishes, Store-to-Door
Please call Rosemary at 952-831-1461 for information about any of these programs.
♦  Birthright of Minneapolis
Caring women needed to work in the office 1-2 days per month for 4 hours per day. Call 612-338-2353.
♦  Catholic Charities Volunteer Opportunities
Call Catholic Charities Volunteer Resources at 612-664-8600 or visit: cctwincities.org/volunteer
♦  Store-to-Door
Store-to-Door (www.storetodoor.org), a local non-profit, is in need of volunteer shoppers and order takers. Shop for customer orders in the morning on weekdays or take customers orders over the phone from our own home and enter them in online (can be done daytime, evening, or weekend!) Contact Molly for more information at storetodooor.org or 651-642-1892.
♦  Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity
Twin Cities Habitat brings people together to create and preserve homeownership in our neighborhoods, to partner with hard-working, low-income families to be successful homeowners, and to inspire action that promotes affordable housing for everyone in our community.
