Anointing Service
• Greeters/ushers: welcome people, help them with name tags, assist them into church.
• Help with reception after: set-up, serve, clean-up (cookies and coffee).
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
• Catechists: lead conversation about a particular subject (could be one time, or several).
• Hospitality ministers: welcome participants, set-up treats, assist with Vigil reception.
• Breaking Open the Word leaders: lead conversation re scripture readings.
• Sponsors: be with the catechumens/candidates throughout the process and participate in the discussions.
Prayer Service Ministers
• Lead a prayer service (with communion) at an area senior residence or nursing home.
Ministers to the homebound and/or hospitalized
• Visit with and take communion to a homebound person or the hospitalized.
BeFrienders
• Visit (no communion) those who request it: the grieving, lonely, angry, troubled, etc.
Funeral Ministry
• Assist with set-up the day of the funeral, assist the presider as needed, occasionally serve as lector and/or Eucharistic minister,
may preside at grave side and/or wake service.
After Funeral Lunch/reception
• Be a part of a team that prepares and serves the lunch/reception, and cleans up afterwards.
• Call for volunteers for above (cooking, etc.).
• Prepare shopping list and purchase groceries for the lunch/reception.
Grief Support Coalition
• Be a trained support group facilitator.

Faith Formation
• Help collate and prepare for mailing registration materials for all families with children of the parish ages 3-18.
• Organize the annual Trick-or-Treat tailgating event last Sunday of October.
• Decorate and deliver cookies and prepare greetings for homebound parishioners.
• 2-4 people to organize Christmas caroling for parishioners followed or preceded by a social.
Post Baptism
• 1-3 adults to help plan a post-baptism event in January.
• 2-3 adults to make and serve a meal at a post-baptism event in January.
• 1 adult to provide child care for parents attending post-baptism session.
First Eucharist
• 1-2 catechists to work under the direction of the faith formation staff to help prepare children for the sacrament of Eucharist.
• 1-3 older teens or adults to help families during sacrament preparation learning centers.
• 4-6 people to help set-up, serve, and clean-up the parish First Eucharist family potluck on Holy Thursday.
• 2-3 people to help prepare, serve and clean-up for the faith community celebration of First Eucharist on the date of the group
celebration.
• Sew the pieces of the First Eucharist quilt into a blanket.
First Reconciliation
• 1-2 catechists to work under the direction of the faith formation staff to help prepare children for the sacrament of
Reconciliation.
• 1-3 older teens or adults to help families during sacrament preparation learning centers.
• 2-3 people to help prepare, serve and clean-up for the family celebration of First Reconciliation on the date of the group
celebration.
Confirmation
• Help prepare and serve the lunch for the confirmation retreat (1 Saturday in April or May).
• Help prepare, serve and clean-up for the parish celebration for confirmands (1 Sunday in Spring).
Sunday Preschool
• 6-12 Catechists who work as a team under the guidance of the preschool coordinator in each age level, 3, 4, and 5 year olds twice
monthly during 11:00 Sunday Mass.
• Classroom aides, adult or teens, to be present in each classroom 1, 2, or 3 weeks per month to assist children and catechists and
help with snacks.
Children's Liturgy of the Word
• 2-4 adults to train to be a prayer leader for Children's Liturgy of the Word.
• 1 aide weekly to help lead children to and from Children's Liturgy of the Word during 11:00 Mass.
• 4-8 children to act as banner carrier leading into 11:00 Mass and leading children from the assembly.
Middle Grades
• 6-10 catechists to work under the guidance of the middle grade coordinator in each of 6th, 7th, and 8th grades for 1-2 five-week
class rotations yearly.
• 1-2 families to coordinate monthly meal before classes; prepare, set-up, clean-up and reminder calls as needed.
• 3-5 volunteers to act as small group leaders as needed for large group events or retreat.
Senior High
• 2-4 families to coordinate Intergenerational Dinner. Set-up, clean-up and reminder calls as needed (once per year).
• 2-5 junior and/or senior families to prepare, serve and clean-up the Senior Graduate Brunch (once per year).
Nursery
• Older teen or adults to care for young children in the nursery during Faith Formation sessions.
Sowers of Justice
• Help members act on behalf of justice in their personal, work, and political life.
Child care provider
• Older teen or adult to care for young children in the nursery during 11:00 Sunday Mass.
• Organize, schedule and maintain updated child care schedule throughout the calendar year and see that provisions are present to
11:00 Sunday Mass Nursery.
• Child care provider and/or helper, teen or adult, to care for young children in the nursery during special events offered by the
parish.
Rainbows (Support group for children who have suffered a
loss):
• 2-3 trained facilitators to lead varied age groups for 1 or 2 six week sessions per year.
Vacation Bible School (one week in July/August):
• 5-10 teens to help make crafts, bags, murals, activities, etc. on Wednesday mornings throughout June and July.
• 10-12 catechists for various age levels.
• 10-12 catechist aides to assist catechist in any way possible.
• 2-4 adults/youth for daily child care for catechists.
• Car pool coordinator and/or driver to schedule and/or give rides for children if needed.
• 3-5 adults daily to make and serve snacks for one to five days as directed by staff.
• 4-6 adults to set-up the building with furniture and materials for the week as directed by staff.
• 4-6 teens/adults to clean-up the building of furniture and materials as directed by staff on Friday p.m.
• Arts and Crafts Coordinator to create ideas for ages 5-9 daily and lead adult and teen volunteers in the follow through.
• 10 adults and teens to assist in the arts and crafts program by helping children with their projects, set-up for the next groups
and clean-up each day.
• 4-5 teens to act as music team leaders helping children to learn songs and activities each day under the direction of the music
coordinator.
• 5-8 teens to act as a skit team under the direction of the skit coordinator to learn and do skits each day for one week.
• 1 older teen or adult recreation coordinator to plan games and outdoor recreation for all ages each day under the direction of the
staff.
• 3-5 teens to act as recreation helpers to carry out plans of the recreation coordinator.
• 4-6 adults to help prepare and serve the family picnic under staff direction.
• 1-2 flexible older teens to work where ever needed as assistants to the director of Vacation Bible School.
YACC (Youth & Adult Coordinating Committee)
• Become involved as an adult leader by attending meetings and being willing to act as a chaperone for events.
• Fall Festival: 10-15 youth to help crafters carry their materials to and from vehicles.
• Chaperone social or service events as needed.
• Drivers (adults) to shuttle youth to events when necessary and safe.
Young Adult Ministry (High School Seniors through late 30s:
• 3-5 young adults to participate in planning and implementing young adult gatherings.
• 2-4 young adults or adults to prepare, set-up, and clean-up a snack, a meal, or event.
Peace Garden
• Prepare soil, weed/water during the summer and help cover the garden in the fall.
• Prepare a weekly weeding/watering schedule for volunteers during the summer months, print and send out.
Rainbow Bags (used by children during Mass)
• Help get the bags in usable order and create new bags for preschoolers as needed.
• Keep bags in good condition and pieces supplied by sorting after Sunday Masses each week.
Resource Cart
• Maintain and update the book, video, periodical resource cart and coordinate volunteers to make it available at Saturday/Sunday
Masses.
Seder
• 2-5 adults to help to prepare, set-up and experience a Seder meal with middle school families or the parish at-large.

• Open and set-up church for Mass on weekdays, Saturday/Sunday, Holy Days, special services.
Prayer Presiders
• Assist in leading prayer for the community for morning prayer, vespers, communion services, vigil prayers and grave side prayers.
Lectors
• Proclaim the Word of God at Sunday, weekday, and Holy Day liturgies.
Eucharistic Ministers
• Distribute Eucharist at weekday, Sunday, and Holy Day liturgies.
Servers
• Serve during the Sunday liturgies.
Greeters
• Welcome and greet parishioners before the Sunday liturgies.
Ushers
• Usher for Sunday and Holy Day liturgies - men and women greet people, assist with seating, take up the collection, distribute
bulletins, and pick up in church after liturgies.
Gift Bearers
• Bring the gifts of bread and wine forward during a Sunday liturgy. Please call the parish office and let us know if you'd like to
do this for a particular liturgy, or volunteer with the ushers when you arrive at church; wonderful way to mark a special occasion: birthday,
anniversary, guests visiting, etc.
Eucharistic Adorer
• Pray before the Blessed Sacrament (First Friday every month).
Liturgical Schedulers and Mailers
• Schedule all liturgical ministers, compile and distribute schedule for all liturgies and other services.

Environment Committee
• Plan/prepare environment for worship and church related spaces for the various liturgical seasons; also do sewing, purchasing,
ordering, decorating and ironing.

| Music Ministries |
|
Contemporary Ensemble
• Lead the assembly in song at the 5pm and 11am liturgies; need instrumentalists, cantors and singers (seventh grade to adult).
9:00am Adult Choir
• Lead the assembly in song; need instrumentalists, cantors and singers (tenth grade to adult).
Children's Choir
• Children in grades two through six; rotate singing at Saturday 5pm, Sunday 9am or 11am Masses monthly from September through May.
Adult and Youth Handbell Choirs
• Handbell choirs are a music ministry to our parish, both a youth and an adult group presently exist.

ISAIAH
• Participate in an ecumenical coalition of 80 congregations that deals with local community issues and addresses larger regional
issues and builds relational power for faith-based collective actions in the name of biblical justice and the common good.

Habitat for Humanity
• Be part of a team to build a house or make a monetary donation.
Loaves & Fishes
• Help prepare and serve a meal to those in need at St. Stephen's Church in Minneapolis.
Meals on Wheels
• Deliver meals to those who have signed up for this program.
Store-to-Door
• Pick up groceries and deliver them to those participating in this program.
VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People)
• Bring food for the food baskets; purchase a toy for the Christmas Giving Tree toy collection; purchase school supplies for the
summer collection; volunteer directly with VEAP.

share our faith.

• Provide direction, education, communication, and encouragement for involvement in matters of justice.
Pastoral Care Commission
• Discuss pastoral care needs in the parish, and ways we can be of assistance to parishioners (from facilitating social gatherings to
reaching out to those in need).
Worship Commission
• Facilitate the overall prayer life of our community and encourage full, conscious and active participation by all in the
