Mary was born on March 3, 1919 on a farm in Ayrshire, Iowa, the first of 7 children. She graduated from Silver Lake High School in Ayrshire in 1936 and went on to business school in Des Moines, Iowa. She managed offices and took good care of herself until she met and married Wilford O. Gill. They were married May 6, 1966 and had a happy marriage until he passed away in 1986. She lived in her home until recent years when she enjoyed living with other seniors in Des Moines at 3801 Grand Avenue. Recently she moved to Minneapolis to be closer to her sister. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 2, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents Anna (Duffy) and Edward Nolan. She is also preceded in death by brothers Raymond, Robert, James and Charles and sister Gertrude. She is survived by her beloved sister, Geraldine as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was active for over 60 years in the Catholic Daughters of America and loved her Catholic faith. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Richards Catholic Church in Richfield, Minnesota located at 7540 Penn Ave. S. at 11 a.m. on Thursday May 7, 2015. There will be a visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will be held at St. John’s Cemetery in Emmetsburg, Iowa on Friday May 8, 2015 at 11 a.m.
