This past May, Fr. Mark celebrated his 16th anniversary of ordination. Prior to being the pastor of St. Richard, he was assigned to St. Olaf parish in downtown Minneapolis. In addition to presiding at Mass, Fr. Mark oversees the life of the parish through the various parish committees and commissions.
Father’s primary duties revolve around the liturgical life of the parish. He works with couples preparing for marriage and other sacraments, as well as our faith formation groups. He also visits the sick of the parish who request a pastoral visit or ask to receive the sacrament of anointing of the sick.
In addition to our parish Mass schedule, Fr. Mark celebrates Mass at various nursing homes around the area and makes hospital calls to those who wish to see a priest. He is also available to meet individually with those who seek counseling or insight on spiritual matters. The best way to schedule a meeting or an anointing for yourself or a loved one is to call Fr. Mark at the parish office, 612-869-2426, or to send an email.
Fr. Mark grew up in Maple Lake and attended St. Cloud State University. He later attended seminary at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD, and the Saint Paul Seminary here in Minnesota. He has five brothers and sisters, 16 nieces and nephews, and 4 great-nieces and nephews.
