November 18, 2014

I.Prayer

 

II.Pastoral Visit Follow Up

• Waiting on report from Archdioceses
• Areas for growth
  • Stewardship
    • Compared to last year St Richard’s is 11% ahead from where the parish was at this time last year
    • Will convey to parish via Father’s letter in the bulletin
    • For the 2014 year the parish is 4% ahead for the year
    • 425 households have pledged/responded-50% response
    • Approximately $579K pledged
    • Mass attendance is up
  • Facility
• No weaknesses listed

III.Constitution Status

• No final edits or updates from the Council
• Next step is sending in the Constitution
• Then waiting on Archdiocesan approval

 

IV.Facilities Update   

• Replaced plastic sink faucets in bathrooms
• Raising money for carpet tiles in education wing
  • Will be started & completed after the 2014-2015 school year
  • Requesting $40 per tile & will be part of Mardi Grais fundraising
• Removal of adhesive to brick wall outside of the chapel
• Painting the narthex
• Bells maintenance for a cost of $1,000
• Repairs to the Blessed Trinity security doors-ongoing
• Side lot will be open/plowed on weekends until Christmas

 

V.Grow Vision Statement Status Completed

• Vision Statement 1-Will have fully functional pastoral council & parish structure defined-In progress
  • Yes-9 member pastoral council instituted by 10/1/14
  • No-Appropriate commissions & committees defined & instituted in 2015

 

• Vision Statement 2-Will have fully appropriate forms of media/communication for the purpose of assuring fullest possible communication to parish-Yes
  • accomplished by maintaining parish Facebook & parish website
    • Communication is being maintained primarily by Nicole
  • Board outside being updated on a regular basis on parish life
  • Welcome table is currently being tested to see what is working for the parish before committing to a permanent desk

 

• Vision Statement 3-Will increase new total household membership by 10%-In progress
  • Mass attendance is up
  • Update on new members since the beginning of the fiscal year next meeting

 

• Vision Statement 4-Will have 25% more active parishioners-In progress
  • Ministry Fair being reinstated March 7-8, 2014
    • Increase membership by either gaining new members or existing members on a ministry join another one

 

• Vision Statement 5-Will have increased giving to 100% of the parish-In progress
  • Pledge amount has increased
  • More than 50% of the parish give

 

• Vision Statement 6- Will have Parish Faith Formation well defined, intentional-in progress
  • Mass series on Sunday’s

 

VI.Reflection on Shared Ministry Presentation

• The shifting cultural paradigm from volunteering as a duty to being a calling of all baptized people
• The different kinds of stewardship & not just focusing on the financial side of stewardship
  • Changing the semantics of stewardship to include talent & time
• What is St. Richard’s identity?  How does shared ministry fit into this identity?
