Start regular classes up and delay by 1 week
Find people for Sunday mornings and Beth Gaetz has agreed to coordinate these sessions
Will evaluate after a period to see when it would be feasible to hire a new director could be mid-year
Meeting 8/26 with Faith Formation Commission and the Catechists to go over the short term and long term plan
Will be looking for more Catechists for the program
Short bulletin section about the current interim plan and also will be posted on the website to notify the parish
Program serves 59 children from Pre to Confirmation
IV.Senior Housing Update
Good showing of support for this project by the Parish
Concerns about where the city wanted the placement of the building vs where St. Richard’s Church proposed the building to be due to the spacing available by St. Richard’s Church attendees
United Properties are setting up a meeting for 8/24 to discuss additional or different plans
Will be discussing the pro’s about the placement of the building
Discussion on if we do not like the plans does the Parish want to continue with the proposal
United Properties will attempt to meet with the ISD 287 about the roadway prior to the meeting on 8/26
Appraisal done for the Diocese showing about $1.1 million
V.Feasibility Study
Facilities Committee brought forward to Finance Council issues with the building and maintenance that is needed almost a year ago
Finance meeting will discuss the deficit from last year
Interviewed several groups for the study to hire-Hired the Steier Group out of Omaha, NE to conduct the study
Would have a local contact work with St. Richard’s during November and December
This would involve 50-75 personal interviews with leadership from parish and then a survey for the whole parish
Funds from the Senior Housing would be put in the endowment to be used for future maintenance
Finance Council will meet to discuss if this study should move forward
VI.Grow-Follow Up
Vision Statement one Will have fully functional pastoral council & parish structure defined-Complete
Vision 2 Will have employed appropriate forms of media/communication for the purpose of assuring fullest possible communication to parish-Need to form a commission
Vision 3 Increase new total household membership by 10%-increase but no formal number is available at this time-statistic needed
Vision 4 Will have 25% more active parishioners-increase but no numbers available
Vision 5 Will have increased giving to 100% of parish-statistic needed
Vision 6 Will have Parish Faith Formation well defined, intentional and begun implementation of a program that covers multi generations-ongoing
