I have been privileged to serve alongside an amazing staff, and with all of you, for 8½ years in my role as Parish Administrator for St. Richard’s Catholic Church. We have journeyed together as we supported three different pastors, raised over $1.2 million dollars to make several capital improvements throughout our campus, and evolved to make sense of what ministry means during the coronavirus pandemic. After over a year of prayer and reflection, I have decided to retire from my role as Parish Administrator at the end of December. As many of you may recall, I transitioned to part-time status back in January to support more balance in my life and to further respond to my vocational call to be a Spiritual Director. This has not worked as well as I had hoped and my health has been suffering as a result. The journey of the walking prayer labyrinth is a metaphor for our journey through life and our longing to be with God. Its twists and turns, like the twists and turns of our lives, can offer us new perspective and ask us to pay attention to where God is leading us next. While God is calling me to new ministries, I am confident that the future of St. Richard and the Catholic Church in Richfield is bright as we continue to discern God’s vision for the Church in this area. Deep peace and blessings to you.
