Faith Formation classes for 1st - 8th grade children take place prior to the 11am Mass on Sunday mornings September through April. Parents have the opportunity to nurture their own faith while their children attend class, and are encouraged to attend the 11am Mass with their children following class sessions. Class for Pre-K & Kindergartners take place during the 11am Mass.

Music for grades 1-4 offered during small group time, while grades 5-8 work on a themed skit.

All classes are held in English.

Children interested in receiving preparation for a sacrament (First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, Confirmation) who do not attend a Catholic school must attend a regular program of on-going catechesis. When registering, please register both for Sunday Faith Formation classes and the sacrament for which he/she will be prepared.

We offer faith formation classes for children from the age of 3 (must be toilet trained) through 8^th grade on Sunday mornings, starting September 22, 2019 and going through the end of April, 2020.
 

• The curriculum includes: weekly small and large group discussions, arts & crafts, music, exploration of different prayer forms, large group service projects and family-themed presentations.

• Each year’s curriculum builds on learning from the previous year, so it is extremely important that your child/ren attend classes each and every year, even when they aren’t preparing to receive a sacrament!

• Parents are invited to stay and participate in adult formation while children are in class (or to assist as catechists/aides), and are strongly encouraged to attend the 11am Mass together with their children.

The Summer Girls Coding Club was a success but is taking a break until after Labor Day. Girls in grade 6 or older, who enjoy math, are invited to attend the Girls Coding Club at St. Richard. Taught by parishioner and Robotics team co-mentor Lynn Norby, the Coding Club uses the free software Alice from Carnegie Melon University that was developed specifically for teaching girls to program in an enjoyable, non-threatening way. It uses a drag-and-drop approach to work with 3D objects so it involves little typing. There are a lot more details at: www.alice.org. 



Fall dates for the Free Girls Coding Club will be set-up after Labor Day so check back on this page.  Participants are welcome to bring a laptop to install the software on, but this is not a requirement.

The Robotics Team (for ages 10 years and up) will begin holding practice sessions in the Community Room on Wednesday, August 21.
