Training and/or orientation is needed for each liturgical ministry and is scheduled by appointment with Cindy Nedved. Scheduling for each ministry is coordinated according to the individual minister's scheduling needs.
Mass Coordinators
This ministry coordinates the setup for Mass on weekdays, Saturday/Sundays, Holy Days and other special services.
Serves on a rotating basis (approximately one per month)
Prayer Leaders
Assist in leading prayer for weekday morning/evening prayers, monthly Taizé, and Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion.
Scheduled at a preferred liturgy once or twice per month
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC)
Distribute the Eucharist at weekday, Sunday and Holy Day liturgies; also encouraged to participate in ministry to the homebound.
Scheduled at preferred liturgy 1-2 times per month.
Altar Servers (Acolytes)
Young people (grades 4 and higher) and adults serve the altar at Sunday, Holy Day and other special liturgies. Scheduled at preferred liturgy on a rotating basis
Ministers of Hospitality: Greeters
Welcome parishioners and guests before the Sunday and holy day Masses, and other celebrations. Scheduled at preferred liturgies on a rotating basis (approx. monthly)
Ministers of Hospitality: Ushers
Greet people, assist with seating, take up the collection, distribute the weekly bulletins and tidy up the church after liturgy. Scheduled on a weekly basis, as available.
Eucharistic Adorer
Pray before the Blessed Sacrament between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., as scheduled (Mondays at St. Peter and Fridays at Assumption.
Gift Bearers
Gift bearers process the bread and wine at the Sunday liturgy. This is a wonderful way to mark a special occasion in the life of the family, such as a birthday, anniversary, visiting guests, etc.
Liturgical Environment
Prepare the worship space and adjacent areas for the many liturgical seasons of the church year. Seasonal commitment (watch for bulletin announcements)
Altar Guild
Care for vestments, vessels, and worship spaces; the gifts of sewing, ordering, decorating, woodworking, and ironing are most welcome. Scheduled on a weekly or monthly basis, depending upon the task
Music Ministry: Choir
Serve as music ministers for any weekend Mass at any of our three parishes. Singers and instrumentalists grade 9 through adult are invited to join. Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings, September through May, and 30 minutes before each Mass.
Music Ministry: Bell Choir
Ringers are invited to lead and accompany the assembly's singing at monthly liturgies and on major feast days. For more information, contact Donna Kavanaugh. Rehearsals held weekly on Thursday evenings, September through April.
Music Ministry: Ensemble
Members of this group serve as music ministers for Masses. Singers and instrumentalists grade 9 through adult are invited to join. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings, September through May.
