As most of you probably know, about a month ago I was given a new assignment by Archbishop Hebda, and will be moving to St. Patrick's of Edina to be the deacon there at the end of the month. I preached at the Masses at St. Richard this last weekend, and the parish gave me a wonderful send-off, complete with a blessing, a reception after each Mass and the gift of a beautiful deacon stole. It was a touching, emotional experience for me, having had 15 wonderful years at such a great parish. Many people aasked me at the receptions what would happen with my blog. What I am planning to do is set up the blog on a hosting site that is seperate from either St. Richard's or St. Pat's, with the thought that each parish can have on their web site a link to my blog. That way if you want to keep reading what I am writing, you can find me at www.deaconbobschnell.com.
It will take a bit of time to get that going, and I want to take a little break while I settle in to St. Pat's, so it will be a bit before I get back up to speed. But I know that Lent is starting this week, and I hope to be actively commenting on the daily scripture readings before we are too far into this important season of the Church year.
