Meeting Minutes

April 19, 2016

Present:	Fr. Mark Pavik, Sheryl Rose, Doris Brandner (Chair), Samantha Smith (Secretary), Maureen Scaglia, Paul Kujawski, Murray McCartan, Bob Schiltz, Sue Loeffler, John Belinski

I.Opening Prayer

• Lead by Maureen

II.Capital Campaign

• 95% of the pledges received as of 4/19 with commitment weekend 4/25
• Steering committee will be part of the decision process on what the funds are used for and if there is a possible increase or decrease for each project
  • Meeting will be 5/3 with 2 people from finance, parish council, facilities making up the committee

III.Re Grow Meeting

• Chance to evaluate the Grow process to talk about how the plans are going
• Father Mark, Sheryl and Doris will be attending the session on 5/25 

IV.St. Richard’s Church Culture

• Email received about a concern about the music at the 11:00 mass
• Used to be a contemporary music mass, now has organ on some songs.  Has become more traditional.
• In the past the music director was a full time position and also a part time person was employed.  There was actually different music and worship aids at different masses.  There are less resources now for music due to past budget cuts.
• It was suggested by Fr. Mark that this is something for the Worship Commission to take up.  He will talk to Betsy and bring it to the Worship Commission

  • Next luncheon is 6/14
  • Went over volunteers for the different committees
• Liturgy Commission
  • Recapped Holy Week
  • Discussion continues about liturgies and how to continue to serve
• Facilities Commission
  • No meeting for April 
• Faith Formation
  • No meeting this past month
  • Vacation Bible School planning has begun along with Summer Stretch
  • No mission trip for 2016
• Parishioner Resources Committee
  • Gifts Celebration 5/14 & 5/15
    • Layout is changing so there is one path to the treats
    • Committee members meeting with the staff to go over the plans and build on momentum from last year
