II.Capital Campaign
Update by John Rogers
As of 2/16/16, 9 days since kick off
Positive feedback from the parish on the transparency of the campaign in bulletin with updates, that the projects will not start until funds have been received
III.Parking Lot News
Reached out to Richfield Honda but no returned calls
Bloomington Jeep Chrysler interested in leasing the parking lot
Sheryl & Tom Flood met with the General Manager of the dealership
Flat monthly fee was requested and lease was given to St. Richard’s Church as of 2/16/16 for review
This will be brought to the Dioceses to review
$24,000 a year and they will handle the security, snow removal
Any parishioner that would refer buyers would generate additional fee to St. Richard’s Church
No more than 100 cars on the lot
One person would be on the premises moving the cars
Would be paying unrelated business tax on this
IV.School Subsidy
In past years, Assumption would give a certain amount of money per year from their rental income to St. Richard’s Church. This subsidy has been reduced.
Blessed Trinity met with Diocese and Diocese will be meeting with 3 parishes individually to discuss what will happen if the current subsidy funds can’t be raised
BT is applying to the Healey Education Foundation for possible help to assess how to improve the school and to generate funds
Discussed if St. Richard’s Church will be making up the additional $70K that is being lost for fiscal year 2017
Parish Council reviewed the joint council decision from December and concurred with that decision which stated St. Richard’s Church can’t return to the former school subsidy level assuming that the Assumption subsidy remains reduced.
V.Rummage Sale
Doris will not be available for the rummage sale June 9th or 10th
Should the sale be moved to another weekend or should it be cancelled for 2016?
Does it make sense to continue the Rummage Sale based on the hours to plan and work vs. the amount of funds raised and the remaining volume given to St. Vincent de Paul
No decision yet made on whether to continue with the Rummage Sale-still to be determined
VI.Other Items
Steering Committee with members to help oversee and make decisions on how to start using the funds from the Capital Campaign. Would help to manage the process and make decisions
May start around March-April
Members would be from several of the leadership groups
Doris, Sue, Murray are willing to be a part of this group
