As a Deacon I have two part time volunteer assignments - to a parish and to the Archdiocese.  I have been delighted that my parish assignment has been here at St. Richard?s Church?it will be 10 years as of October. Like many deacons I have a regular day job outside the Church-in my case I am a lawyer-so I do not have an office or regular hours at St. Richard's Church and work more on a project basis. 
 
My duties here involve assisting at Mass and delivering the homily approximately one weekend a month, meeting with and preparing families who are interested in having their children baptized, and assisting with the Closing Liturgy on First Friday Eucharistic Adoration when I can. I preside at weddings when a couple wants to have a wedding liturgy that is not a Mass and I do baptisms when they take place outside of Mass, as well. I also have a blog on the St. Richard?s website ( Deacon Bob's Blog) that I update from time to time. It is a great joy and privilege to be part of this community.
