Opening Prayer
Minutes Minutes should be routed after the meeting so people can review, offer feedback. Then the minutes will be posted on the website.
Directory Fr. Mark talked to St. Peter’s about how they handled the sign-up for directory pictures. They did most of their sign-ups through their front office staff. They had options of signing up online at home, after mass or by calling the office. Calling the office worked well especially with older people since they weren’t as tech savvy. They had good luck with this approach.
Lifetouch has an updated program for 2019. We can get the brochure from Clyde – our local representative. Fr. Mark has not talked to our front office about it. Riyan, Tim and Lynn will meet with Clyde again – hopefully before the DEC19 meeting.
Fall Festival Post Festival feedback:
Barb and Keith Rauen are angels – they work so hard.
At 3:00 pm, was not busy, but many people were there.
Wished they had donuts on Saturday morning.
Dinner and after seemed vibrant.
Sound was good during bingo.
Pancake breakfast was busy; around 220 participants.
Good attendance – nice, steady stream.
Fr. Mark reports that financially, results look to be consistent with last year. We’re somewhat ahead due to sponsorships. Fewer volunteers signed up. It seemed like there were more games so maybe needed more help.
Feedback will be sent to Barb, Keith and Cindy Nedved.
February Dinner Planned for Saturday, 16FEB19. People like the South Pacific theme. Riyan talked to a potential parishioner who might help coordinate Filipino food; she said she’ll get back him. He got the impression she would help. Riyan will check back with her to find out what she can do and what assistance she’ll need. Plan to keep it simple. Hopefully we’ll have an answer by 18DEC18 meeting. We plan for 150 people; goal to keep costs under $5/person. Free will offering onsite.
Lay Advisory Board (LAB) The Archbishop has called for an ad hoc Lay Advisory Board (LAB) as part of next year’s year of healing. This Board will be a vehicle for soliciting ideas from lay people to renew/refresh our mission/archdiocese now that bankruptcy and lawsuit are concluding. It’s envisioned that the group would meet quarterly with the Archbishop. Representatives from each parish would attend the deanery group (not sure of frequency). Representatives from each deanery meet quarterly with the Archbishop. Representatives will pass on information from these meetings and then bring back feedback. The memo from the Archbishop mentions representatives being from the Parish Council, but it’s not clear whether rep has to be a Parish Council member. There are 16 Deaneries. Fr. Mark asked us to pray about it and let him know if we are interested in being on the Lay Advisory Board.
Next meeting: 18DEC18. Fr. Mark will out of town on our scheduled January, 2019 date (gone 14-28JAN19). We will decide during 18DEC18 meeting if we’ll meet in JAN19.
