Nicole served with distinction at St. Richard’s Catholic Church from August 2010 through February 2021. Starting in March, she is at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis and can be reached via nadamsblume@mary.org.
I view every aspect of church work as ministry and love the opportunity to interact with the great St. Richard parishioners - especially the dedicated volunteers. I can be found in the parish office during our regular weekday business hours working with Sheryl to be the best possible stewards of your prayer, participation and generosity!
My main areas of responsibility include:
· Bookkeeping—I maintain the records of parish income and expenses, including parishioner contributions and the processing of bills. I help ensure that accurate reports are available for staff members, parishioners and the finance council, to manage budgets and enact the parish’s financial priorities.
· Communications—I prepare our weekly bulletin and E-News, as well as working with other faith communities, newspaper publications and social media, to ensure that information about parish events and activities is widely available. I also serve as the point-person for website updates and provide support so that the various ministry departments can keep their areas of our webiste and Facebook page up to-date
· Office Management—I manage the parish calendar, assisting both staff and parishioners in planning events. I also oversee the various equipment and supplies in the parish office. I work with the volunteer receptionists to ensure that we are able to assist and provide the ministry of presence to visitors during office hours. I also work with community organizations and local residents to provide welcoming location for youth sports leagues, educational programs, celebrations, elections and other civic activities.
A little about my background: Prior to coming to St. Richard in 2010, I spent seven years serving the parishes of the Archdiocese through our risk management and self-insurance provider. My eclectic educational background includes church administration, risk management and catechesis. I just completed my theology studies at the University of St. Thomas Murray Institute in spring 2020.
I am a life-long Catholic who grew up in St. Paul with my parents and one sister. I love the Church's liturgical traditions and have served at my home parish since the 90's, including singing in the choir, serving as a lector, and as a catechist for Children's Faith Formation. I live in Minneapolis and share my home with my rescued animals - currently two parrots, Ellie and Mogwai, and two cats, Gizmo Aloysius and Hosea.
