As part of our dedication to social justice, we partner with many community organizations to serve not only our parish, but also the larger community. Please explore the links below to learn more about the wide variety of ministries and volunteer opportunities offered through St. Richard’s Catholic Church. We invite you to consider how and where God might be calling you to serve.
Birthright
Birthright offers love, friendship, and support to women who are pregnant or think they may be pregnant. Birthright services are always free, non-judgmental and confidential. While Birthright is not a clinic, volunteers do free pregnancy testing; in addition, we provide support and guidance and help you find and make connections with community resources. The Birthright office also has a supply of maternity and baby clothes, layettes, and diapers.

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity's mission is to build homes for families, because everyone, everywhere, should have a health, affordable place to call home. St. Richard parishioners spend one week each summer helping to build a home. It is a community-building activity and you do not need to be a carpenter to help. Skills of all levels are needed and used.

Loaves & Fishes
Loaves & Fishes' mission is to provide nutritious meals to people who are hungry across Minnesota in an atmosphere of hospitality, at sites where the need is greatest, and to deploy join ventures/partnerships with like-minded organizations assisting guests with additional basic needs key to becoming self-sufficient. St. Richard parishioners prepare and serve a meal every third Friday of the month at Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield.

Meals-on-Wheels
Meals-on-Wheels is a community-based service that provides fresh, nutritious meals delivered directly to the homes of seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout the Twin Cities. In addition to regularly providing healthy foods, caring volunteers provide a social connection that helps meal recipients remain living independently in their own homes. Besides monthly financial support from the parish, many parishioners volunteer directly with Meals-in-Wheels. Every four weeks, we provide two drivers for each day of the week, Monday through Friday.
